About the Center
Basma Center for Audiology and Speech Therapy was established in 2010 and licensed by the Ministry of Health with a registration No. 5/2012 and by the Ministry of Education with No. 937. The center aims to provide rehabilitation services for children with hearing and speech disorders in the southern governorates of the Gaza Strip, particularly Khanyounis governorate
Objectives
Implement rehabilitation and treatment sessions (speech, audio, and academic rehabilitation) for children with hearing impairment through using Jaras, Afnan, Bortage, and SKI HI programs
Contribute to developing families and specialists’ capabilities in rehabilitation field through implementing training courses and workshops
Prepare and conduct tests and evaluations related to special education for children with special needs
Conduct hearing screening and check-ups by the available medical devices
Contribute to educating the community about hearing and speech disorders

Basma center was approved by the health sector of UNRWA to implement most of hearing screening projects for students in the southern and central governorates.

The center offers medical services for all segments of the society for nominal fees
